Social media is not about privacy, it's about sharing!

According to an article I read online, new data from Business Insider, "Tweets has now passed 50 million per day. That's up from about 2.5 million per day at the beginning of last year." But the real question is, What are you putting out there? Remember first, that you should do more listening instead of posting. I have a steady steam of information coming into my phone that I scan, but it has to be "good stuff" for me to either read, respond or pass along. If you want to increase the amount of time you touch your clients, be the provider of relevant information to your data base. Read information from your local and state trade associations and pass along the information. Providing good quality information on tax credits, building code changes and new laws that effect the way we live our lives are a sure way to stay in someones in box.

Social Networking and You, Do The Mix?

With over 400 million facebook users worldwide, according to a recent article of PC Today, a facebook account is a great way that helps you keep in contact and build our database of friends and customers. Just think about the 71,000 fans Mountain Dew has. Online social media is a "Fourth Place" to network. It's not work, home or even the coffee shop. With the growing number of "Viral marketing" sites and the younger generations demanding that us "older" folks get on board with tomorrow, Social medial is an advertising market that some will accept kicking and screaming. But remember to try and keep your personal and business life separate. The internet is not the best place to share the photos of the recent trip to beach.
